Y’know how bad a president Dubya is? He’s so bad that Richard Mellon Scaife now thinks Clinton was pretty good:

Christopher Ruddy, who once worked full-time for Mr. Scaife investigating the Clintons and now runs a conservative online publication he co-owns with Mr. Scaife, said, “Both of us have had a rethinking.”

“Clinton wasn’t such a bad president,” Mr. Ruddy said. “In fact, he was a pretty good president in a lot of ways, and Dick feels that way today.”

I have some seriously uncomfortable vibes about the right wing and Hillary.

Either they want her to win the Democratic nomination so they can train all their propaganda guns on her, 'cause they feel it's their best shot in '08 --

Or they bought her off. I mean, she's cozied up to Murdoch, Scaife's laying off her, she did support Goldwater in her youth, and if she's nominated she'll get votes from Democrats everywhere, many of them with noses held, but that's more a feature than a bug for these guys. Plus she's driving a truck through the holes in the public campaign finance system. She'd make a better Republican president than Big Dog did.

I'm not comfortable about this situation at all.

The Democratic Leadership Council does not even try to pass as politically liberal. While I wouldn't call them "neocon" (unlike some of my non-LJ acquaintances on liberal-side), that faction of the Democratic Party certainly is willing to find common ground with them.

And it includes both Clintons.
