So what I’ve been doing the past few days is asking myself “Am I ever likely to read this book again, or am I just keeping it out of inertia or a belief that this book is the sort of thing I ought to have around?”. I’ve asked it a few hundred times, and it turns out that I’m only answering yes to the first part about 20% of the time. Then the books that fail get stuffed into boxes and hauled out to the curb. Except for the Liavek books, which I brought home to [livejournal.com profile] ladymondegreen.

(BTW, [livejournal.com profile] drcpunk, do you have your copy of Fevre Dream, the old mass-market paperback with the white cover? I think the copy I’ve got is one I bought used at a con a few years ago, and I returned the one I borrowed from you.)

Even throwing out the comics is less painful than I’d anticipated, though it takes longer. I’m not likely to decide I suddenly need to flip through Dilvish, the Damned before throwing it out, but those Grant Morrison JLA issues, well.

To the curb? That's amazing! I can't imagine it, but you've probably already checked with comic shops or thrift shops or whatever.

My trouble with sorting is that I can do it for a little while, then the tiny styrofoam pellets start choking my brain. There soon comes a time when I start getting more and more keep-y, and if I don't stop sorting right then, I'll start going back and taking things out of the discard pile and putting them back in the keep pile.

But I'll bet I could get rid of at least some 80s stuff. Groan.

You aren't going to throw out those Miracleman trades, are you?

Thank the gods!

Or... shit, that means I can't take them off his hands. Whichever.

This may be bizzare but...any chance you want to mail them to Israel? I'd be happy to pay for postage and something for the books too.

Really. Especially if it's before May 14th, which is when the rates go way up.

No problem. Good luck with the cleaning out and the move.

I don't recall you having my copy of Fevre Dream, so you must've returned it, plus, even if you didn't, I, um, accumulated a couple of extra copies. Hm... should give Pamela one, if I haven't.

I've pruned a bit, but... well, I might always use some of these books for reference. Still, I've managed to hand over my copy of Vampire: The Requiem and the World of Darkness core rule book, on the grounds that, well, I am not going to use them. I might be able to convince myself to send Cold City to Robert Dushay, who's curious about it.
