Not quite well
Sep. 18th, 2002 12:40 amI seem to not be fully recovered. I had pizza for lunch, and felt overly full for most of the rest of the day, like I’d had a huge meal, though it was the same thing I order almost every time I go to Roma Pizza. I’ve been snacking on grapes the rest of the day, and one protein bar.
I spent the afternoon snapping reference photos for a painting I’ve got in mind, and a few others that might turn up in something or other. Then I went in to Manhattan to buy a USB cable (for my new printer, which didn’t come with one) and a CompactFlash reader/writer (to save battery life on my camera). I installed both, and then my scanner started acting up — every time I successfully scanned something, a few minutes later it would launch an app called VistaScan, which locked up my machine. VistaScan does seem to have something to do with the scanner, but it had never done that before. I hunted down the application on my hard drive, compressed a backup, and deleted the uncompressed original. That seems to have done the trick; I’ve successfully scanned stuff since then and haven’t had that problem. Even in artistic endeavors, those techie skills come in handy.
