Unicorn Jelly

Unicorn Jelly is an absolutely adorable daily online comic by Jennifer Diane Reitz that’s been going for a couple of years now. I’ve only read the first couple of dozen strips, so I’ve just scratched the surface of the story, but can’t help but be impressed by any author who works up a Powers of Ten map of her fantasy universe. And by any author who builds a strip around a slime that gets pissed on by a unicorn.
Reading over Jennifer’s old D&D war stories makes me nostalgic for the old anything-goes days of old-fashioned gaming, when we didn’t care if our game worlds made coherent sense, and routinely had inter-dimensional portals bringing through superheroes or space aliens. If I weren’t already not running a game, I’d be tempted to suggest such a campaign to my current gaming buddies. Big Eyes, Small Mouth would work pretty well for it, though I’d be tempted to fix the annoying dice mechanic. And the broken combat system. Hmm, maybe converting the attribute system over to an Over the Edge dicing mechanic....
Ah, clearly I’m not the only one who thinks D&D-style adventuring and BESM rules are two great tastes that taste great together. BESM: Dungeon Crawl is due out this December.
New campaign?
