Didn’t do a heck of a lot today; spent too much time hunting around the net for reactions to my post about the “intelligent design” movement on my blog. And, like just about every Wednesday, I went into Manhattan to buy comics and work on the New York Review of Science Fiction.
Today’s comics included not one, but two Grant Morrison titles — the latest New X-Men and the first issue of his new comic, The Filth. The Filth is Morrison in full-out memetic firehose mode, picking up where The Invisibles should have left off before it went downhill, with weird secret agencies and liquid artificial personalities and bizarre imagery.
I also picked up the first issue of something called 30 Days of Night, but I haven’t gotten to reading it yet. And the latest two Lone Wolf & Cub reprint books.
I’ve been staying up way too late recently. Fortunately my gym reopens tomorrow after a week-and-a-half maintenence period, so I have a better than usual reason to get up before noon. I seem to have lost a couple of pounds even without working out, but I miss that energetic feeling I have the rest of the day when I work out in the morning.
