Blanking on Buffy

I was watching Buffy, and a couple times in the episode the cable flickered out on me. Just for a second or two each time, but it was annoying. The first time was while the principal was talking to those two unnamed students in his office; I missed a bit of his dialog, but the overall sense of it was clear. The second time is a minor spoiler....

Council Head: “The girl knows nothing.” —blank— “...as soon as possible.”

What’d I miss? Though given what happened further on, I guess it’s a moot point.

And about that ending — OK, the Master wasn’t the most interesting of Buffy’s enemies, but he is the one who managed to kill her.

Also, I totally forgot to watch Angel on Sunday. Was it a new episode?

Well, Buffy said it was someone she'd fought before. Or whose minions she'd fought before. "The first," she said. And the Master was the first big villain of the series. The Master fits in with this whole back-to-the-beginning theme Joss started off the season with. And the Master was always tied in with the Hellmouth -- he had been trying to open it sixty years before the series starts, and then been trapped in it by an earthquake.

Clearly there's more going on than just the Master, what with the chameleon spirit dude who's been causing trouble.

And I don't know how they're going to get around the fact that Buffy dusted him way back in Season 1.

Ah, I found a nice page chock full of Mastery badness. Helps refresh my memory of Seasons 1 and 2. I'd forgotten all about that bring-back-the-Master spell (which shouldn't work anyway, since Buffy crushed the bones).
