My gym-going habits have changed. In the old days I used to go in the morning. I’d put on my gym clothes (before getting dressed in normal clothes), work out, then come home, shower, and dress. If I woke up too late or frittered the morning away on something else I took it as an excuse to not work out.
Since my gym’s no longer on the next block, but a subway commute away, I have to get dressed to go there, which means I often wind up going in the afternoon or evening. One less excuse to skip. And I get the immeasurably pleasant experience of showering immediately after a workout. Ahhhh.
I got to the gym a bit after 6 PM today, then discovered that I’d somehow lost my lock. Had to go out and buy a new one. Pain in the ass. I almost gave up and went home, but I figured I’ve been working out for less than a week, it’s way too early to be giving up and skipping days.
