Workout numbers are looking good, Avram! You guys are going to pass me if I don't keep at it.
Question: Are you doing your lifts to Level II still (shoulder high), or Level III sometimes (head high)? It might be a good time to start mixing in some Level III pumps if you haven't already. Also, on your lifts you have the option to switch to long levers too - instead of doing a bicep curl, keep your arms extended and lift out and up from the shoulder. This works your upper back and girdle muscles.
Shoulder-high, or sometimes just chest-high when I'm starting to tire out.
I've got a separate set of just-weights exercises I do on other days that cover my general upper body. I could probably just drop the exercises from Heavyhands and just swing my arms, but that would get monotnous. I should probably pick up one of the books.
Thing about Level III is, it raises your workload substantially. I'm not talking about muscle-building here so much as aerobic effort. When you start to reach the point that pumping to Level II is putting you into the lower end of your target heart rate zone at best, you will probably find that Level III puts your heartbeat back up to the middle/high end.
Completely agree with you that multiple moves beat monotony. I've added duckwalks recently. Also, I have to admit, I mix in a little running now - 120 paces of pump&run at a time, usually two intervals in a 30 minute session. More than that would be the end of my knees.
WTG!
